It's been a busy summer at HOME, with a host of office visits. Among them, we were delighted to welcome in representatives from the new Fundraising Regulator shortly after it officially opened for business.

Both Stephen Dunmore, CEO of the Fundraising Regulator, and Michael Smyth, Chair of the Adjudications Committee, took time out of their busy schedule to visit our office in the weeks after they launched for business. They met with us at our head office in London Bridge, finding out about how we manage large-scale fundraising interactions and work so closely with both charities and our people to help them achieve their full potential.
Every campaign we work on is different, but we have a real focus on best practice which doesn’t mean just trying to maintain standards, but rather looking to improve everything we do including our interactions with the public.
We were pleased to have an opportunity to contextualise what this looks like in practice, taking our visitors around both our fundraising operations and training teams to see exactly how it all works.
At HOME, we’ve long worked closely with the sector’s trade bodies and regulators, with our Joint Managing Director, Dominic Will a Trustee of the Institute of Fundraising and, previously, of the Public Fundraising Association. With the merger of these two bodies now complete, we hope that this will bring an even greater opportunity for a stronger industry body that can champion fundraising and help the sector adapt to the new regulatory regime.
We’re hoping to build on this high level of engagement with the new regulator and the IoF, feeding into the development of industry standards and always striving to improve.
